Moving arround Buzios

:: Useful Information
:: Buzios Geography

Buzios isn´t a big city and is about 8 km long. The reception of the city is the Portico in the entrance, that in case of doubts or any information about Buzios, employees of the Tourist Secretary are there to help you.

The streets and pousadas of the city are sinalized giving orientation to tourists, it´s easy to move arround. The main street in Buzios is José Bento Ribeiro Dantas that divides the city in two from the entrance to the end of the city, when entering to the center its name changes to the famous Rua das Pedras that continues until becoming Orla Bardot that take you to Ossos, Azeda and João Fernandes beaches. From Av. J. B. Ribeiro Dantas many streets take you to the beaches and neighborhoods in Búzios, like Trevo of Manguinhos (supermarkets, drugstores,etc.) that take you to Geribá beach or in the Trevo da Ferradura (where the Esso gas station is) and as how the name says, takes you to Ferradura neighborhood and beach.

There is also Estrada da Usina St. (that goes from the trevo da Ferradura), and takes you to Brava, Forno and João Fernandes beaches, it helps to reduce traffic in the area.

If you don´t have car, the city offers bus stops all through José Bento Ribeiro dantas, inside Búzios and also go to Arraial do Cabo passing through Cabo Frio. There are also Vans that do the same route and you can take taxis that are in different parts in the center and that can take you to any place in the city. A ride from the center to João Fernandes (5 min.) is about R$ 10. In case you want, it´s also possible to do a city tour around the city and know all the tourist points and main beaches, but even though Búzios is small, the beaches are far away ones to the others and it´s better to have a car or rent one.

You can rent many ways of transportation in buzios from cars and Buggys to scooters and real motorbikes! In sumer time the prices are about R$ 70per day for a buggy and a car between R$ 100 or R$ 150, that´s why its better to ask fot the service in the hotel or pousada where you are going to stay.
